Jonas is responsible for the technical vision of the company. He drives the development of our software, mapping, and AI capabilities.
Before Cartken, Jonas worked at Google as a Tech Lead for the BookBot, the last-mile delivery robot, within the famous internal incubator Google Area 120. He also was a Senior Research Engineer at Bosch North America leading mapping and localization teams for autonomous cars.
Jonas earned a Ph.D. degree in Computer Vision from the Hamburg University of Technology.

In 2019, a group of former Google engineers and operators came together to create Cartken—a company set on transforming how goods move.
Initially focused on last-mile delivery, the team quickly uncovered a larger challenge: industrial environments lacked adaptable autonomous solutions that could seamlessly operate both indoors and outdoors. Existing technologies were constrained by terrain, weather, and dynamic environments with high people and vehicle traffic.
Recognizing this gap, Cartken expanded its mission beyond last-mile delivery. The team developed autonomous robots capable of navigating complex environments, taking over manual transport, and allowing workers to focus on higher-value tasks.
Today, Cartken powers businesses worldwide, making intralogistics more efficient, increasing productivity, and creating a happier workforce.
